Cryptocurrency as a phenomenon of digitalization

The article is devoted to the phenomenon of cryptocurrency in the modern economic space. It is revealed that at the present time in the world community there is no understanding of this phenomenon. Based on this, it is necessary to formulate and substantiate a theoretical understanding of the e-currency system. Of particular importance in the article is given to conducting research on the relationship of cryptocurrency to traditional reserve currencies and a detailed analysis of the course identification and the formation of the conceptual apparatus. Also in the work a comparison of the main cryptocurrency quotes with the definition of a period with the maximum value of the volatility indicator is considered in order to determine the factor influencing the market decline to a downward trend. On the basis of the conducted research, the author formulates the basic theoretical ideas about the phenomenon of cryptocurrency, specifies the prerequisites and influence on the market.
