In article the principle of blockchain technology and a role of the cryptocurrencies based on these principles in criminal activity is considered. The attention to the main criminalistic aspects of this economic event is paid. Authors suggest to consider cryptocurrency not only as a way of anonymous financing of illegal activity, but as a subject of criminal encroachment and a way of commission of crimes.
