The article presents the results of a theoretical study in order to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of a higher educational institution. The analysis of the statistics of the current state of higher education in Russia is carried out. The results of evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency in higher education are analyzed, and the main approaches to evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of marketing activities of higher education institutions are considered.
