Critical habitats as the subject of a crime

The article deals with issues related to the definition of critical habitat. Based on the analysis of normative legal acts in the field of environmental protection, the subject of criminal encroachment is determined, which in turn adds to the relevance of the investigation, since the definition of the subject of this crime leads to a discussion in the legal literature. The theoretical positions are supported by the points of view of prominent scientists in the field of ecology. In the course of the study, conclusions were made concerning the identification of a number of features that characterize critical habitat.
