This article examines the state of agriculture, with a particular focus on sheep farming, during the challenging post-war period in Soviet history. The transition of the Soviet economy to peacetime conditions was accompanied by severe organizational and political difficulties, which directly affected the development indicators of both agriculture and sheep farming in Kyrgyzstan. The study provides a concrete analysis and practical implementation of decisions made by the highest party and state bodies of the USSR, drawing upon newly declassified archival materials. The author concludes that the advancement of agriculture and sheep farming relied primarily on extensive factors and centralized directives. These processes unfolded against the backdrop of the gradual retreat of the wartime mobilization economy, with no material incentives for Soviet citizens to improve their labor productivity.
