The article deals with the origin of the small ethnic group of Krymchaks. This small ethnos is both a nation and a unique religious community. Various opinions about the origin of this community are reviewed. The author discusses the questions of culture, traditions and customs of Krymchak community, whose members live mostly in Crimea, as well as in other post-Soviet states.
