The paper is devoted to publication of the kufic dirham of Abbasid dynastyissued during the reign of Caliph al-Musta’in Billah (years 248-251 of the Hijra / 862-866),precisely in 248 of the Hijra / 862/863 (identification of Dr. A. A. Gomzin). The dirhamwas found on July 11, 2014, 25 km NE from the historical centre of Moscow, 0,6 kmfrom the Klyaz’ma River, in the Burkovo field (town of Korolev, microregion Bolshevo,South from the village Burkovo). Analysis of the archaeological and historical-landscapecontext, in which the coin was discovered, gives grounds to associate it with the field whichbelonged to the Burkovo 1 open settlement. At this medieval Russian site a constructiondating from the first half of the 12th century was recorded. The field stretched for 520m from the settlement and the kurgan group of the same period. 1 km from the place ofdiscovery Bolshevo 3 open settlement is situated. It represents the remains of the tradingpost, which in the 11th-12th centuries controlled the portage connecting the Klyaz’ma andthe Yauza Rivers and the Moskva River valley.
