Development of physical culture and sports at the industrial enterprises in the Ulyanovsk region in 1941-1991

This article is devoted to the key methods of implementing state policy on the development of physical culture and sports work at industrial enterprises in the Ulyanovsk region in 1941-1991. The relevance of the problem is determined by the need to study the experience of physical training of workers at industrial enterprises. The sport undoubtedly had a beneficial effect on the physical health of citizens, provided significant increase of labor productivity, and helped to acquire the necessary skills to fight back possible military threat. Sport helped to organize and coordinate the reasonable use of free time, as well as facilitated the team-building. The authors provide data that testify the economic and preventive benefits of sport.
