Culture against «postculture»: the place of tradition in modern culture

The present article is concerned with the problem of human identity transformation in the Modernist and Post-Modernist culture. Types of secular culture based on principles of rationality and creativity are considered in the article. Reformation of these concepts concerned with cultural evolution in the Post-Modernist epoch is analyzed. It is demonstrated that concept of freedom plays a leading role in cultural process. The role of virtual culture in the Post-Modernist epoch and factors which move individuals for exit to cyberspace are analyzed. In the article is drawn a conclusion that the crisis of culture is concerned with the attempt of elimination of person as the coordinator of cultural-creating activity.
