The culture of North Caucasian communities in description of a don historian E. P savelyev

The article covers the issues related to the interest of Don historiography of the early XX century to various aspects of ancient, medieval and modern history of the Caucasus. The author considers the features of the creative laboratory of a Don historian E.P. Savelyev, who developed ideas about the complex processes of historical genesis of the Caucasian ethnic groups, which have been one of the most debatable scientific problems so far.
