The culture of tolerance in Islam

The article studies the abstract concept of tolerance, analyzes intra-confessional and inter-confessional tolerance as one of the main ideals of Islam. We have made an attempt to present the correct position of Islam towards tolerance and pluralism of beliefs. The development of this topic in the scientific community, as well as provision of the correct position of Islam towards tolerance, pluralism and polyvariability serves as a tool that contributes to the proper organization of the peaceful coexistence of multi-confessional and multi-ethnic communities. The processes of complication and intensification of interaction between people of different cultures taking place in the modern globalizing world suggest an important role in educating the Muslims society in matters that will help them to adapt to a non-Muslim society. Despite the numerous publications on the problem under consideration, there is a need to cover this topic based on an analysis of the sacred texts of Muslims and the views of Muslim theologians.
