Cultural Olympiad as a component of social and cultural heritage of the Olympic games (case study of cultural Olympiad "Sochi 2014”)

The article is designed to illustrate how the Olympic Games and "Sochi 2014" Cultural Olympiad have influenced the life of the host city. The author analyses some components of the cultural heritage of the Olympic Games of the Sochi city. It is concluded, that the Cultural Olympiad, included in the program of the Sochi Olympic Games, has largely shaped the prospect development and diversity of cultural life and leisure of Sochi residents and visitors, it has become a strong driving force for the launch of many interesting long-term projects in the sphere of culture and leisure (festivals).
