Cultural heritage of Altai territory: local features of traditional embroidery of Ekaterininsky village

This article is devoted to the characterization of the embroidery art of the Altai Territory on the example of a unique collection of embroidered products of the “Poles”-Old believers of the village of Ekaterinskoe. The author, based on facts from the analysis of the results of expeditionary research, identifies the local characteristics of the traditional embroidery of the Old Believers-“Poles” manifested in the used materials, technology, coloring, composition, ornament. The article traces the influence of the Northern Russian traditions on the Ekaterininskoe's embroidery. In order to identify the specifics of the interaction of embroidery traditions of individual local cultures, the article compares the technological techniques and ornamental motifs of the “Poles” of the Old Believers and Bukhtarma's Old Believers. The author found that a significant part of the studied items from the collection of embroidered products of the “Poles”-the Old believers of the village of Ekaterininsky has a pronounced technological feature - a geometric pattern of the archaic type, made by three counting embroidery techniques: “painting”, “set”, “cross”.
