Cultural codes and language strategies in diplomacy: the case of Uzbekistan and China relations in the 21st century

This research explores the peculiarities of applying cultural codes and linguistic strategies in the diplomatic interactions between Uzbekistan and China in the 21st century. The study is based on the utilization of frame analysis tools and the evaluation of cultural characteristics according to Hofstede’s methodology to identify the specifics of “soft power”, high-context and low-context communication in the intercultural diplomacy of the two countries. The primary focus is on identifying the main cultural codes and linguistic strategies that have become characteristic of high-level diplomatic meetings. This approach allows for a deep understanding of the mechanisms of high-context and low-context communication and the principles of utilizing “soft power” in diplomatic negotiations. The author emphasizes the importance of adequately adapting communicative strategies to the cultural context of the partner and substantiates the necessity of using verified data to strengthen constructive dialogue.
