Cultural relations of the Middle Volga, Upper Volga and Volga-Oka

The paper analyses the cultural contacts of the Middle Volga, Upper Volga and Volga-Oka regions. In the early Metal Age (Middle Bronze under the forest and steppe chronology) these ties can be recorded for the Volosovo, Abashevo, Balanovo and Atlikasy cultures. Seiminsko - Turbinsky sites are also known both in the Middle Volga and Volga-Oka inter-river region up to the Upper Volga. The cultural ties among the tribes can be found both within particular communities (Volosovo, Fatianovo - Balanovo, Abashevo) and among the cultures of different cultural-genetic origin.
