Kursk socio-political journalism in the XX century. From free to stamped press

This article discusses the trends in the development of regional socio-political media (on the example of the Kursk region) in the XX century. Analyzed the main socio-political media of the Kursk region of this historical period. The phenomenon of the party press in the region is revealed and described. The article is devoted to understanding the role of mass media and its journalism in society, which bring new forms of dialogue and communication to society and all its spheres, including the cultural life of the region. The main periods of development of Kursk regional journalism, features of their formation and functioning, transformation of its political and ideological orientations are traced. It is shown that the media play a dual role in society: they can form a dependent "stamped" consciousness, which does not require creativity and ideological independence, or develop a searching, free thinking of the individual. On the basis of the analysis of dynamics of development of journalism of Kursk region, efficiency of its practical activity, and also character of interaction with other public organizations the degree of participation of mass media in public and political life of the region is defined.
