The diversity of the bush communities forest-steppe of the Volga Upland is analyzed on the basis of the investigations data of 1990-2007. The plant community classification based on the ecologo-phytocoenological approach is elaborated. The 6 plant formations and 24 associations are distinguished on the basis of species dominance in the each layer and the combination of ecologo-phytocoenotic group of correlated species. The characteristic of the bush communities are given.
