Lamrim in Tibetan Buddhist tradition

The article deals with the concept of lamrim, its content and significance in tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. We consider lamrim as a special philosophical genre of Tibetan Buddhist literature. A brief analysis of the content and characteristics of two fundamental works "The Lamp on the Path to Enlightenment" by Jowo Atisha and "Big Guide to the Way to Enlightenment" (Lamrim Chenmo) by Je Tsongkhapa is presented in the article. Based on these works we analyze the impact of Indo-Tibetan tradition of Buddhism on spiritual foundations of Tibetan civilization. All this made it possible to prove the significance of Lamrim teachings for Tibetan Buddhism.
