Latency of crimes in the provision of medical services

Within the framework of the study conducted by the authors, issues related to crimes in the provision of medical services are brought to the discussion of the scientific community. On the basis of previous studies on this problem, it States the distinctive features of this type of crime, notes their high latency, reveals the causes determining it, identifies methods for detecting crimes in the provision of medical services and proposes measures aimed at reducing their latency. As the main sources of latency of these crimes, the authors point to the corporate solidarity of doctors and medical personnel, as well as weak knowledge in the field of medicine among law enforcement officers. Therefore, the assessment of violations in the provision of medical services should be carried out by professionals with appropriate medical and legal education. In this way, it is proposed to create specialized examination departments at the offices of the investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, which will be engaged in the assessment of violations in the provision of medical services.
