The features of microwave radiation generation are considered in tunnel-coupled planar waveguide structure of semiconductor-metamaterial. Semiconductor waveguide channel has a positive refractive index and a high coefficient of the Kerr nonlinearity. Metamaterial channel in the test frequency range is characterized by a negative index of refraction. The model of tunable terahertz range laser with distributed feedback is proposed. The laser pump arises due to the modulation instability in the semiconductor channel. Magnetic sensitivity of the metamaterial refractive index can be used for generation frequency control.
