As distinguished from West Europe a typical specific feature of AH treatment in Russia is still the extremely low percent of the patients who reach the target AP level - 8%. Their own preliminary questioning of 30 physicians has shown that only 33,3% of the surveyed take antihypertensive medicines while the target AP level is achieved only in 1,2% of cases. Active combined therapy with Normodipine and Dirotone among physicians allows to achieve the target AP values in 87%. Besides, there has been observed reduction of the speed of the pulse wave propagation and augmentation index that are markers of occurrence of unfavourable cardio-vascular complications among AH patients. Treatment with the studied combination of antihypertensive medicines (together with hypoglycemic and hypolipidemic agents) is accompanied by improved lipid and carbohydrate status and does not affect the indicators of the kidneys' nitrogen excretory function and the electrolytic blood composition.
