Treatment of patients with primary skin melanoma: current problems

The review presents the current treatment methods for primary skin melanoma. Special attention has been paid to the technique of adequate surgical treatment for primary tumor and necessity of preventive regional lymphadenectomy. The problems of isolated regional perfusion, photodynamic therapy and sentinel lymph node biopsy have been discussed. Indications to adjuvant treatment for patients with primary skin melanoma have been reported.
