Treatment of patients with compound fractures of the ankle by the transosseous osteosynthesis method according to Ilizarov

The work deals with the high-priority problems of treatment of patients with fractures of the bones forming the ankle. Clinical-and-statistical description of the patients' category analyzed is given. The peculiarities of transosseous osteosynthesis using the Ilizarov device for such a complex group of traumatological patients are demonstrated. The analysis of long-term functional results of treatment is presented. The conclusion is made that the proposed techniques of transosseous osteosynthesis are high effective in treatment of patients with compound fractures in the ankle zone.
