Treatment and prevention of symptomatic and asymptomatic patients with carotid artery atherosclerosis

The article analyzes the features of the treatment and prevention of symptomatic and asymptomatic patients with atherosclerosis of the carotid arteries. Approaches to the diagnosis, medical and surgical treatment of asymptomatic and symptomatic patients are considered. The risks of surgical intervention are noted. Measures for the prevention of atherosclerosis of the carotid arteries are given. The role of a personalized approach to patients with carotid artery stenosis is emphasized.
