Treatment of patients with recurrent pelvic tumors with local radiation damage remains an unresolved problem. Often the only possible treatment option in this group of patients is surgical, consisting in performing multivisceral resections up to pelvic evisceration. New technical possibilities stimulated the expansion of indications to palliative, or so-called, cytoreductive surgical interventions after radiation therapy. However, the results can not satisfy oncologists, because After such operations, relapses of tumors often occur against the background of radiation injuries. The use of intraoperative PDT in patients with recurrent pelvic tumors with local radiation damage demonstrates good tolerability and improves oncological results, which indicates the need for further research in this direction.
