Legal presumption of paternity: time to ask young people

Arguments are given in favor of including in the law the norm on the obligation of the medical organization in which the child was born to offer the spouse of the woman who gave birth to a genomic study free of charge (at the expense of the state) in order to confirm the paternity of the husband. It is concluded that such a change in family legislation can become a factor that positively affects the level of trust in society, family stability and fertility. The necessity of conducting large-scale sociological studies designed to clarify the preliminary estimates of the author of the article, as well as the expediency of public discussion of the draft of the relevant law is noted. It is suggested that the introduction of the rule will contribute to the development of genetic science and strengthen the idea of the categorical unacceptability of lying in all spheres, including in science and in the family.
