The article analyzes the numerous hypotheses on the location of the Anfalovsky town mentioned in the chronicles of 1472 because of a military campaign of Prince F. Pestryy to Perm the Great. The authors of hypotheses made a mistake with the direct interpretation of the term "town" in the chronicle and recognized it as a proof that there was a Russian settlement of the urban type in the 15th century in the Kama region. However, there is no information on the Anfalovsky town except the Vychegda-Vym chronicle. So, the army of prince Pestryy went on the campaign from the distant Ustyug town, but not from the Anfalovsky town which was near Perm the Great. According to the results of historical-geographical analysis (clarification of the water part of the route of the Russian rat and the practical repetition of the land segment of its path), the author states that the Anfalovsky town was not a town and even not a settlement. It was a mound of refuge on the shore of an old lake located 400 meters to the south-east of Kolchug village and separated from the main Kama riverbed in the late 15th - early 16th century. The Anfalovsky town was not a stronghold of Russian colonization, but served as a traffic intersection. It was a place where the ancient portage began. It also was one of the first roads in the land of the Perm the Great.
