Lexical statistics and the author's ideostyle

This paper presents the results of a comparative ideographic study of 16 Russian pieces of prose (novels and narratives) by M. Bulgakov, V. Nabokov, A. Platonov, and M. Sholokhov. Based on the contexts with frequent lexical units, typical for each author, we come up with individual «profiles» of the authors' conceptual systems. We illustrate the comparative ideostylistic interpretation of the texts through a case study of the denotative sphere «sense perception».
