Molded ceramics from the lower layers of the Samosdelka settlement in the Astrakhan region

Research on the Samosdelka settlement have let to obtain new information on the least studied period in the history of the Lower Volga region, the era of the Khazar Khaganate. Molded ceramics complex discovered during examination of the monument lower layers allows to identify the ethnic components of the settlement population and can be a foundation for clarifying the date of settlement appearance. The crockery, which alternative can be found on the territory of Zhetysu, is of the great interest. A large number of archaic molded crockery of the settlement seems to be unusual. It shows the important role of nomadic groups in culture creation.
