Бесплатный доступ

Azerbaijan has a diverse vegetation cover due to its geographical location and climate. Here you can find broad-leaved, mixed, tugai forests, as well as evergreen plantings. Subalpine sparse forests and alpine meadows prevail in the mountains. Environmental problems of forests in Azerbaijan include partically illegal logging, unsustainable forest management, degradation of forest lands, forest fires, as well as the effects of climate change. Gakh is one of the important agro-industrial districts of Azerbaijan. The total forest area here is 43.7 thousand hectares and consists of valuable tree species, various fruit trees and shrubs. It is mainly known as a nut crop area (hazelnut, chestnut, walnut).
