The article is devoted to Lev G. Baskin who played an important role in foundation of the first Jewish settlement on the Amur River in Jewish Autonomous region and who showed prominent organization abilities and enthusiasm to bring this project to life. It was he, who chose the place for the future agro-industrial settlement called Amurzet (Amur Land Jewish Association) and arranged necessary living conditions for the first Jewish immigrants. His name was unfairly forgotten with time. You cannot find any information about L.G. Baskin in the Amurzet historical references, neither in the museum of regional study. The authors want to restore justice and tell the descendants about this prominent person - LG Baskin, who was authorized by the Committee of Land Jewish Association in the Yekaterino-Nikolsky District to found the first Jewish settlement of Amurzet on the Amur River.
