Identity of the criminal as an element of the criminalistic characteristics of robberies

The identity of a criminal is an important element of research not only for criminology, but also for other criminal law sciences. Information about the identity of the criminal allows us to identify data about the method of committing a crime, its mechanism and the situation, the analysis of which forms a forensic characteristic and is used by the investigator as a basis for determining the direction and methods of investigation of a criminal case. In addition, information about the identity of the perpetrator directly affects the methods of his identification and further detention. The authors analyzed the judicial and investigative practice, which made it possible to identify and group the typical personality traits of a person committing robberies (subjective and objective). The results of the study allowed us to draw conclusions about the personal characteristics of the suspects, which directly affect the process of establishing contact with them during the course of investigative actions.
