The article examines the identity of a criminal who committed murder in a generally dangerous way, which is the central element of the criminological characteristics of this type of criminal offense. Socio-psychological and socio-demographic characteristics of a criminal play an important role in the criminological assessment of a personality, reflecting its individuality and character. The study of this phenomenon is especially important, since such crimes not only threaten people’s lives, but also cause serious violations of public safety. First of all, the author highlights the concept of the criminal’s personality and its connection with the crimes committed by him, provides statistics on the crimes committed. Next, the main features and qualities that may be characteristic of this type of criminals are highlighted. An important aspect of the study is the analysis of the motivation and psychological state of the offender, which may be crucial when choosing a generally dangerous method of committing murder. An integral element of the personality of such a criminal is his value system. They may have extremely deviant and distorted ideas about morality and the rules of society. The absence of social restrictions and compliance with the laws can contribute to the commission of murders in a generally dangerous way and increase their desire to dominate and control other people. Various generally dangerous ways of committing murder that can be used by criminals are also considered. The author analyzes such methods as the use of firearms, chemicals, explosions and others. Special attention is paid to the technical aspects and accessibility of such methods, as well as the possible consequences for victims and society as a whole. In conclusion, the author summarizes the results of the study and draws conclusions about the importance of studying the identity of a criminal who commits murders in a generally dangerous way.
