The human identity in the period of religious and moral polarization

The article discusses the role and value of the human identity in the period of social crisis, which is characterized by opposite tendencies in development of morality, positive and negative polarization. Current crises threat irreversible and very negative consequences for the entire human community, they gave rise to new kinds of wars, destroying spiritual principles of social life. We believe that in such a situation the transition from war to peace is possible only thought the active participation of every member of society in the process of its altruistic transformation. In the second half of the 20th century an outstanding Russian-American scholar, thinker Pitirim Sorokin suggested the project of altruistic transformation of mankind, his theoretical position could be the basis for these changes.
