Personal traits and risk of cardiovascular disease

The influence of personality traits on the cardiovascular disease progress still remains an open question. In this article the author reviews existing conceptions of this field, such as A-, D- personality types, aggressiveness, tendency to hostile behavior, and pathophysiological effects of these factors on the cardiovascular system. The article may be of interest to health psychologists, psychophysiologists, psychologists dealing with personality issues.
