A socially significant category of the rural population is personal subsidiary plots (hereinafter referred to as private household plots), the main purpose and activity of which is to meet the need for food. During the formation of a multi-structure economy, there was a reduction in large-scale agricultural production, which led to the release of labor resources and a decrease in income in agricultural sectors. At this time, the activation of the working-age rural population in the economic activities of personal subsidiary plots was noted, the main task of which was now not only to provide food for their families, but to increase the volume of agricultural production and its sale in order to generate income for the family budget and provide employment for their members families. Thus, there was a conditional division of personal subsidiary plots into classic (consumer) and commercial ones, which directly strive to increase the marketability of their products in order to sell them profitably. Commercial private household plots can subsequently be a resource potential in increasing the overall production of agricultural products and the transition to other organizational and legal forms of ownership of producers, for the purpose of efficient production, which is one of the foundations of state agri-food policy, both of the state as a whole and of a separate rural area.
