Leaders of scientific schools in plant growing of V.I. Lenin All-Union Academy of Agricultural Sciences

An attempt has been made to give due credit to the founders and the prominent figures of native plant growing science which made significant contribution to agriculture development and strategy of nature management. The achievements in breeding of different crops which permit to raise the genetic potential of varieties, quality of production, plants resistance to unfavourable environment factors, diseases and others were described. A new scientific trends were considered which have evolved from theoretical fundamental investigation in different branches of plant growing.
