The article considers the lexicon of an invented language from the novel "Watership Down" by R. Adams. Using the method ofphonosemantic analysis developed by S.V. Voronin, the authors analyze the sound structure of the invented language and conclude that the principle of its construction is sound-symbolic; the sound choice is motivated and verified by the data accumulated in the sphere of sound symbolism. This result is an evidence in favour of the existence ofphonetic meaning.
