F. I. Buslaev’s linguistic concept in the ideological context of the 1840-1850s (on occasion of the 200th anniversary)

Activity and the formation of F. I. Buslaev as a scientist starts in 40-50-th years of XIX century. The ideological context of the epoch was the confrontation of the Slavophiles and Westerners, their disagreements concerned views on Russian language also. Buslaev considered that doesn’t belong to any groups. The article substantiates the conclusion that linguistic views of Buslaev in general are in line with the Slavophile theory.
