Condillac's linguistic ideas. On the history of intonation study

The article is devoted to the study of linguistic ideas of the French philosopher Condillac. His relationship with the logical school in linguistics is considered here, as well as his views on the mechanism of functioning and origin of the language, and his ideas concerning intonation in the language. Intonation emerges early in the language development in order to replace the sign language. Different types of intonation express different national characters
