Lingvoecology and modern language policy (on the material of German and Russian)

The article deals with the problem of maintaining the purity of language in a multicultural society. Using the examples of Germany and Russia, the directions of the countries’ language policy are examined, the legal status of the German and Russian languages is defined, and the concepts of “state language”, “official language” and “national language” are distinguished. The problem of protection and development of the state language as the main means of communication is of particular relevance in a multinational society. The article focuses on the comparative description of the status of official languages and the main directions of the language policy of Germany and Russia as multicultural countries.
