The paper outlines the features of the names of military equipment and weapons in the Russian and American linguistic and cultural communities. A comparative analysis of the cultural meanings reflected in the semantics of the names of military equipment and weapons of the two countries is carried out. It identifies the features determined by the national and cultural specifics of the linguistic and cultural communities under consideration.
