The article provides an overview of contemporary lingvocultural theories of concept in language and speech. The system-language, associative-verbal, semiotic and cultural theories, and their approaches to the analysis of culturally marked linguistic units are viewed sequentially in the work. These theories are interpreted as having a mutually complementary character, that allows to describe general cultural space from various research points.
