Lingual-pragmatic potential of abbreviation anthroponyms of modern period

The article deals with abbreviation–anthroponyms as one of the distinctive features of the Russian language at the border-line of the XX–XXI centuries. Their history started from the abbreviation of personal names (symbols of stamping the artisan products) to the blossom of abbreviation pseudonyms in the XIX and the beginning of XX centuries and their fall down in the middle of the XX century when such words stopped their formation. The revival of abbreviation anthroponyms in modern period is caused by different reasons and has a different character. The article analyses the communicative settings of the creation of such abbreviations, reveals their expressive possibilities, describes the methods of involving abbreviation-anthroponyms in speech contexts, demonstrating their elocutive-pragmatic potential
