Linguo-semiotics of the institution of higher education

The article investigates university concepts and signs reflecting the diversity of learners' activities and cultural stereotypes as a sort of environment for creating the elite university education in Great Britain. British university discourse is realized through verbal and non-verbal signs. Verbal signs are presented by nominal groups of discourse agents, their actions, elements of educational process and its material resources. Non-verbal signs include symbolic artifacts (attributes of academic environment) and paralinguistic signs (gestures and mimics).
