The article motivates macro-economic approach to spatial consolidation of the Russian territories that secures stability of their economic development. Contemporary level of inter-regional links is considered and factors that limit development are distinguished. Basic premises of a new meridian macro region formation and possible extension of inter-regional integration of the Komi Republic with neighboring territories is estimated.
