Small wind power engineering: problems and solutions

Current state analysis of small wind power engineering in the world, its general trends and development are submitted. The total number of small wind turbines in the world by the end of 2011 reached 730'000 units and about 576 MW capacity, in comparison with 240 GW total capacity of large wind turbines. The largest share of small wind turbines is situated in two countries: China - 40% of capacity (500'000 units /225 MW); US - 35% of capacity (151'000 units /198 MW).
