Small business in Ukraine on the eve of the USSR collapse

The article analyzes the revival of entrepreneurial initiative in Ukraine during the Gorbachev's reforms, the chronology of development of the legal framework for the small business, which is a necessary element of a full-fledged market and its self-development. The author discusses the main factors that impeded the small business development during this period.
