The article studies the axiological aspect of small folklore genres in the structure of epic narration. The ethnic identity and functional peculiarities of magtals, urols and admonitions are revealed in the Buryat uliger «Abai Geser Bogdo Khaan», written after uligershin A. Vasilyev.
