The article considered the concept of manipulation as a daily practice. A theoretical analysis was carried out, where the following were considered: social mechanisms of manipulation; described who studied this effect in the family; considered what methods manipulation is used in the family; identified the goals pursued by the manipulator; described the most common ways of manipulative actions in the family circle that affect: guilt; self-esteem; a sense of pity; love; fear; threat.
